After many years of world evangelization, Mr. Francis Grim, the founder of SAAWE,
was deeply burdened with the many millions unreached with the Gospel. South Africans needed to be challenged
to do all in their power to meet this need.
In 1976 Mr. Grim expressed this challenge in the form of a booklet "An Ideology for South Africa" of
which a quarter of a million copies were printed in English and Afrikaans. Later editions, including one
in Zulu, raised the figure to over half a million. The founding of SAAWE fulfilled
a long felt need.
Vision
South Africa - a fountain that reaches the world with the gospel
Mission
SAAWE mobilizes the body of Christ towards world evangelization
Strategy
SAAWE mobilizes the body of Christ towards a multiplication-action focused on the
least evangelized people groups
Strategic Objectives
- Missions Orientation
The Biblical basis for missions, testimonies of needs, opportunities and breakthroughs in the world are
discussed. The missions' needs of the congregation are determined.
- Prayer Mobilization
The church is mobilized to pray for least evangelized people, mission fields, missionaries and the missions'
needs inside the church, etc.
- Mission Workers' Mobilization
Local congregations are assisted to select, train, assess, send and support their missionaries.
- Children's Missions Mobilization
Congregations are guided to mobilize children for missions and prayer.
- Youth Missions Mobilization
Congregations are guided to mobilize youth for missions and prayer.
- Mobilize to Evangelize
Churches are mobilized to become involved with least evangelized peoples through prayer, by sending missionaries
and by implementing practical church-planting projects.
